Speech and Language Therapy services

Speech and Language therapists (SLTs) are qualified professionals that work with clients, who present with a variety of disorders of communication, language and speech.

For example, an SLT may work with children, who develop speech difficulties as they grow up which can often co-exist with other difficulties such as Autism.

Difficulties with speech and language can also exist independently, such as expressive language delay, speech impairment etc.

Our SLT is trained to identify the different types of difficulties and recommend therapy to help with these issues.

Reasons for Referral:

  • Slow to start talking
  • Not using a lot of words for their age
  • Unclear or hard to understand
  • Getting frustrated and having difficulty understanding or expressing emotions
  • Not following directions and instructions
  • Struggling with reading, spelling or comprehension
  • Finding it hard to engage with others and play with their peers
  • Having difficulty with conversations (e.g. talking about own interests only)

If an of these sound familiar for your child, please contact our clinic on 021 4321 729.
