Irene O’Brien – Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Irene graduate form University Limerick with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. During her studies, she gained valuable experience of working with children at the Treehouse Early Intervention and School Age teams at St. Gabriel’s Centre in Limerick. During her time at St. Gabriel’s, Irene worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team and assessed, planned, implemented and reviewed interventions for children with ASD, DCD, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome based on family centred goals. Irene also was a member of the team that communicated with families and teachers to facilitate development of fine and gross motor control, sensory and emotional regulation, visual motor and perceptual skills, social skills and attention at home and during school. Irene also developed a resource booklet for school age children for distribution to teachers and parents across Limerick. Irene is based in our Limerick clinic and is very well regarded as an excellent clinician.
Paediatric Occupational Therapist
Róisín graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy. She is an energetic and positive person who had the good fortune to travel and experience many different cultures. During her travels, she was privileged to volunteer to teach students and children English in Vietnam and work as an Au pair in the Australia outback.
Róisín previously worked for The Sunflower Clinic in Cork, where she led a number of groups including Social Skills, Handwriting and also led summer camps specifically for children with Down syndrome and children with movement difficulties. Róisín has also completed the DIR (Developmental Individual Relationship) Floortime training course and is passionate about finding new methods to engage children in a fun and playful manner.
