Hannah Maher
Senior Occupational Therapist

Hannah had worked at the Kilkenny Sunflower Clinic since 2015. She graduated with a Bsc. (Hons) Occupational Therapy from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2012.

Hannah has several years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist, first working in a Rotational Post within the NHS in London gaining experience in Orthopaedics, Acute Medicine and Community Occupational Therapy services where she consolidated her core OT skills.

She then took up a paediatric occupational therapy position with a private practice in Wexford, gaining valuable experience assessing and managing a case load of children and adolescents ranging from 3 to 18 years of age with a variety of conditions. E.g. Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, Developmental Coordination Disorder/Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Rett’s Syndrome and various neurological conditions.

Hannah is ADOS-2 trained and has also had experience working in schools with ASD units located around Wexford and Kilkenny , where she assessed children and developed individual treatment programmes for each child.

She has also been involved in leading and organising summer camps for children with developmental delays. Hannah has also gained experience implementing various treatment programmes such as the brushing programme and therapeutic listening. Hannah offers group handwriting courses for children looking to strengthen their handwriting skills. She has raised awareness of the benefits of Occupational Therapy from an early age educating teachers and parents on sensory processing disorder and Dyspraxia/DCD.

Hannah is passionate about sport, having played at senior county level in Camogie for Kilkenny and brings a wonderfully vibrant and happy disposition to the team.

Hannah also spends time in our Thurles and Rathcoole clinics.
